A rural Welsh garden landscaping and stonework project.
Rural garden landscaping
When Andy and Sue Clarke commissioned my team and I to redevelop their garden in a rural North Wales village, they were looking for an imaginative design using local, natural, and recycled materials where possible. They wanted a garden which felt in-keeping with the house and its surroundings.
We worked through the winter to completely clear their site, remove 120 tonnes of material, build raised beds and seating from recycled limestone, and hand-lay a sandstone driveway and paths.
Full site clearance and leveling
Original dry stone wall repairs
Enclosed outdoor workspace with a built-in alpine garden in its walls
Entrance area laid with Welsh slate
Kitchen garden with bespoke stone and slate seating area with an integrated herb garden
Raised beds built using recycled stone
Drive and pathways laid using two sizes of tumbled sandstone setts
“Working with Nick and his team was a pleasure. He took our designs, added his own touches and delivered a landscaped garden which everyone who sees it compliments his work. ”
